It's time to party
The Coffee4Kids Charity Ball is set to be a magical evening of fun and games hosted by one of the most magical venues in Sydney, Luna Park. With live music, plenty of food and one of the best views in the city, help us raise money to support children in need.
Every child deserves a childhood.
All proceeds from the evening will go towards funding a new initiative, Safe to Connect, Play and Grow - A Therapy Program for Children who have experienced Abuse or Trauma, run through the Child Protection Unit (CPU) at The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
The Child Protection Unit saw a total of 290 new cases in the financial year 2015-2016, they provide forensic, medical and counselling health services for children, young people and their families following allegations of child abuse and neglect.
There are a group of children and their families with risk of harm and significant concerns in relation to abuse and trauma who require ongoing specialist Occupational Therapy intervention which the unitcurrently does not have the capacity to support.
The Safe to Connect, Play and Grow program would utilise the skills of an Occupational Therapist to provide sensory and play based interventions to parents and foster carers and the vulnerable babies/ children in their care.
CPU need $80,000 to make the program a reality - help us make a dent in this incredibly worthwhile initiative.
Luna Park Sydney was constructed at the foot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge during the 1930s and officially opened to the public on 4 October 1935. Its iconic and recognisable smiling face is as embedded within the city's identity as it is within the harbour foreshore. A playground for both adults and children alike, Luna Park is just for fun.
